Segment a small email list
Use source, interest and action tags to keep early email follow-up relevant.

You do not need dozens of segments when the list is small. Start with information that changes what you send: why someone joined, what topic they chose and what meaningful action they took.
Put this into practice
- Tag the signup source or lead magnet.
- Record the primary topic the subscriber selected.
- Separate customers from noncustomers.
- Use clicks only when they represent clear intent.
- Remove rules that never change a message or decision.
Create three useful tags and write the exact decision each tag will influence.
Start with a useful first version. Check what works, update what does not, and keep the experience clear for the person visiting your site.
