Pick a starter
Use Local Business for services, Personal Journal for writing, or Creative Portfolio for project work. Preview the sample layout before deciding.
Download the ZIP
Save one theme ZIP from the free designs page. Keep it zipped; WordPress accepts the ZIP directly.
Upload it in WordPress
Open Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. Choose the ZIP, select Install Now, then Activate.
Edit the front page
Go to Appearance → Editor → Templates → Front Page. Click each sample heading, paragraph, and button to replace it with your own.
Edit the header and colors
In the Site Editor, open the header to set your site title and navigation. Use Styles to adjust the palette and typography.
Preview on a phone
Check the mobile preview in the editor and open the public site on your phone. Fix any text or button that is hard to use.

Download one of the three editable WordPress theme ZIPs. Each includes a sample front page, a menu, and layouts for pages and posts.
Browse the free designsThe themes provide layout and sample text. They do not create pages, install a contact form, or supply images. Replace every placeholder before launch.
