All eight steps

Step 8 of 8 · 30 minutes

Test and launch

A short launch check catches the mistakes visitors notice first. You can keep improving after the site is live.

Follow these actions

01

Test on a phone and computer

Open the public address on both. Check that headings fit, text is readable, buttons are easy to tap, and there is no sideways scrolling.

02

Follow the visitor path

Start on Home and complete the main action yourself. Test every menu link, contact address, form, and download.

03

Confirm security and backups

Open the https:// version, check that it loads without a certificate warning, and confirm you know how your host restores a backup.

04

Check search visibility

Under Settings → Reading, make sure the “Discourage search engines” option is not selected if you want the site indexed.

05

Remove placeholders

Delete sample pages, unused themes or plugins you do not need, and any template text you have not replaced.

06

Share the address

Send the link to a trusted person and ask them to find the main information and try the contact route.

Keep in mind

After launch, keep WordPress, your theme, and plugins updated. Back up before major changes.

Before you move on

The key flow works on a phone and desktop.

HTTPS and backups are checked.

No sample copy remains.
